Release process

Learn about our updates and releases.

Releases​

The WPP DS releases are independently versioned based on the semantic versioning specification:

  • v.1.x.x — major releases with breaking changes and significant updates. Major releases substitute one of the monthly minor releases based on what we want to release. We always let you know about upcoming major releases.

  • v.1.1.x — minor releases with smaller improvements, new features, and bug fixes. Minor releases happen monthly, but this cadence might change once the WPP DS goes into maintenance (starting from v.2.0.0).

  • v.1.1.1 — patch releases with critical fixes or improvements. We don't plan patch releases. They happen when we need to update something outside the planned release schedule. If you would like to include a bug fix or change in a patch release, please let us know, and we will implement it as soon as possible.

Current version​

You should work with the WPP DS v.3.2.0, which includes the latest stable version of both the design guidelines and web components.

Upcoming major releases​

We're planning to release the WPP DS v.3.3.0 on November, 2025. Stay tuned for the announcement!
