Theming

The WPP DS offers a set of brand themes for global and component styles. This enables you to develop white-labelled apps that can adapt to the different workspaces in the Open OS. You can also implement brand themes for standalone apps.

Our themes provide global and component-level styles for both design and development. Currently, they support the following:

  • Colors
  • Typography
  • Object styles
  • Shadows
  • Data visualization palettes for branded charts
note

Since components use theme tokens, changing the theme also modifies the components. We're planning to release a theme viewer soon to enable you to preview the UI changes across different themes.

How to use themes

By default, all Figma resources come in the WPP theme. If necessary, you can change the WPP theme to a different one, but we recommend using the WPP theme in design to make the process more straightforward. This is especially important for data visualization palettes, as some tokens can map to different colors in different themes.

Changing themes in development is simpler and enables you to simulate user interfaces and chart styles as they appear under different workspaces in the Open OS.
