Build a layout

A straightforward layout makes for charts that help guide audiences towards the desired outcome. Ensure that you provide enough context and space to present your data.

Core elements to include​

  • Title and subtitle. Enable your audience to understand what the data is about at a glance.
  • Legend. Provide context to the data; you can make the legend interactive to filter the unnecessary chart details.
  • Core. Display the chart; you should dedicate about 75% of the overall chart area to the core.
  • Source. Offer optional reference points to the chart data for additional credibility.
